Disney Pixar, it is known, can do no wrong.
There have been a few Pixar releases over the years I've be dubious of, being uninterested in the premise and thinking that a particular title just wouldn't appeal to my tastes personally, but when I've watched them, I've always been wrong.
So now, they get the benefit of the doubt no matter what.
There is one film; however, that is the exception that proves the rule.
That film for me is, The Incredibles.
I know this movie is beloved by many (and I know the sequel is a source of great excitement) but I just can't get behind it and I can't even really verbalise why.
I've seen The Incredibles maybe four times at this point and it just doesn't grow on me, Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, but I am kind of indifferent toward it.
The plot, the characters, the animation design, the pacing. None of it quite works for me. I just find it all a little... boring.
Maybe one day I'll change my mind. Monsters Inc. was a actually a bit of a grower with me but for now, The Incredibles is the one Disney Pixar film that I am meh about.
