Whenever you're feeling under the weather or just not quite yourself, it can be nice to settle down with a good familiar movie, so today I thought I would share with you my top three comforting films.
Firstly a movie I mentioned earlier in the week is the 90s adaption of Little Women. Whenever I need a little bit of familiarity I pop this on and bask in its soft sentiments. Perfect.
The next one has been a favourite for as long as I can remember, the 1939 Judy Garland musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. There is very little this movie can't fix. I feel warm and safe in its nostalgic glow every time I switch it on.
The last movie is a joint comfort watch between Morgan and I and also another classic. If we just want to watch something that simply makes us feel good about the world, we choose Singin' in the Rain. If there's something wrong that Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor prancing about can't ease at least a little, I would rather not know about it. Such an enjoyable way to spend your time.
Obviously comfort watches are different for everyone but next time you need a little picking up try watching one of your favourite nostalgic movies and see if it does you some good.
