For today's Tuesday Trivia post we're going to be delving more into the folklore side of things with the legend of Spring-heeled Jack.
Spring-heeled Jack was a terrifying devil-like creature that supposedly terrorised young ladies in the Victorian age. His main recognisable trait being his ability to bound around with inhuman speed and agility.
Several reports were made, suggesting Jack's existence in 1838 in particular but the legend kept on until well into the 20th century.
There are plenty of theories surrounding Jack, some more plausible than others but many people believe Spring-heeled Jack just to be an extension of the ever prevalent ghost story, a way to explain events and happenings when the true causality is unknown.
Either way, I find folklore and legends like this fascinating, especially when they are as enduring as Jack here. He stuck terror into the heart of many and may very well continue to do so in the form of whispered stories passed on by lingering believers.
