I have had a bit of a girl crush on Krysten Ritter since I first saw her play Lucy in Gilmore Girls, so with that in mind I decided to check out her 2011 film, L!fe Happens.
L!fe Happens follows Kim (Ritter) and her best friend Deena (Kate Bosworth) after a one night stand results in Kim being a new and utterly inexperienced mother.
The first half of the movie, I'll be honest, I thought about switching it off. The characters didn't feel overly real to me and the relationships weren't particularly affecting but I'm glad I persisted because almost every issue I had with the film was being addressed and resolved in the second half of the narrative.
Krysten Ritter stayed true to form, and was charming to watch and overall I did find the movie relatively enjoyable but I just don't think it was really my kind of film at the end of the day.
I definitely can't completely condemn this movie but I'm not sure I would want to recommend it either.
Not a terrible waste of time but not something i'll bother rewatching either.
